Saginaw is part of Michigan
Every Michigan region shares one system — the same maps, the same live radar, the same climate record. Saginaw Bay is shallow, wide and points northwest, which makes it a surge and ice problem the open lake is not: the wind piles water into the bay and then drains it, and the ice road forms most winters. The bay also feeds its own lake-effect band inland, and the flat farm country west of it floods every spring.
